Domingo foi noite de prêmios e de shows. O mundo da música se reuniu no MGM Grand Garden Arena, em Las Vegas, nos EUA, para a cerimônia de entrega dos prêmios Billboard Music Awards 2022. A noite teve vários shows, tapete vermelho com muitas celebridades, apresentadores como Anitta e Michael Bublé e a consagração de Drake e Olivia Rodrigo.
The Weeknd era o artista mais indicado da noite – o nome dele aparecia em 17 dos 62 prêmios, mas no fim da noite, decepção. Ele levou pra casa apenas uma: Melhor Artista Masculino de R&B. Entre as mulheres, Doja Cat era a recordista com 14 indicações, e ela levou quatro: Top Artista de R&B, Top Artista Feminina de R&B, Top Álbum de R&B com “Planet Her” e Top Música Viral com “Kiss Me More”, em parceria com SZA.
A principal vencedora da noite foi Olivia Rodrigo, que ganhou sete prêmios, incluindo Artista Revelação e Artista Feminino. No time masculino quem se deu bem foi Drake, que levou pra casa cinco estatuetas, entre eles os de Artista do Ano, Artista Masculino e Artista de Rap. BTS, Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber e Dua Lipa também foram premiados.
O que não faltou foi show. Teve apresentações de P. Diddy, também produtor executivo da festa, Florence and The Machine, Megan Thee Stallion, Machine Gun Kelly, Becky G, Rauw Alejandro, Silk Sonic, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran, entre outros. Mary J.
